Stumbled upon the Dead Feathers album, All is Lost, last week. I'm not a huge psych rock fan, but the description I read intrigued me, so I clicked play. The music is fine. Like I said, not my first choice but sometimes I just roll with it. But then, Marissa Allen started singing and everything went next-fucking-level. You know in Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit when Grace Slick is wailing FEED YOUR HEAAAAAAAAD. Marissa Allen's voice reminds me of that, just perfect, powerful and beautiful. She's like the secret weapon, really, and I'm hoping I can see these guys soon just to hear her in action. Check out this song, With Me, I love the little yelps, it's so good.
