Stereogum posted a fascinating article about the rise and fall of Myspace and its musical impact. I had an account but I didn't really utilize it, I spent most of my time on a few message boards (Bowlie, Giant Robot, Aimee Mann) during those years.

Anyways, check it out here, it's a compelling read (or at least it was to me).
