Depeche Mode - MODE (2020)

If you were ever curious about Depeche Mode and didn't know where to begin, the (just released) MODE box set might be for you. 18 discs. All 14 studio albums. 4 discs consisting of 63 b-sides and bonus tracks. A 228 page book of lyrics. At roughly $180, it's a bit pricey and a very deep dive, but this thing is a gold mine and easily a no-brainer if you're any kind of DM fan. I remember when I first encountered them, around when Some Great Reward (1984) was out. Fuck, I was still in high school and a bunch of my friends were into them. For some reason, I didn't think DM would last, but they're pretty much legends at this point and Violator (1990) is one of the best albums I've ever heard.
