Purple Mountains

Pretty sure this Purple Mountains album is my fave of the year. It's seriously close with Charly Bliss' Young Enough, they're both incredible in different ways. I think I give Purple Mountains the edge because it really speaks to my old-man angst. It's not like a dad-record, though, David Berman was just kinda world-weary with a dazzlingly dark sense of humour. He just knew about life and it's really sad that he's gone. I'm grateful for this one last album. Check out the bleak brilliance of Margaritas at the Mall up above, and listen to the rest of the album here.
