Just a handful of episodes in, HBO's His Dark Materials has easily surpassed The Golden Compass in my mind. Part of me, however, wishes they'd find a way to stick Kate Bush's Lyra into HDM. It was part of The Golden Compass soundtrack and kinda the main reason I originally watched the film. I never read the books and knew nothing of the story. I'm really into this new series, though.
