Birth of Violence

Chelsea Wolfe's new album, Birth of Violence, is damn good. Her past couple albums have been trafficking in doom metal, but here she goes back to her witch-of-the-woods roots. This sounds like it could be an alternate soundtrack to The Witch (one of my most favourite films). Also, it reminds me, in parts, of PJ Harvey's gothic af White Chalk (which of course is a good thing). It's stark, haunting, eerie and beautiful. Check out Little Grave up there and listen to the rest of the album here.
